Summary: Nothing sours a village’s mood faster than a heatwave, and with the anniversary of the Fourth Ninja War on the horizon, the Nanadaime Hokage knows something must be done about it. That’s where Sabaku no Gaara comes in, but Sasuke is not best pleased with his involvement.
Warnings: m/m sex, implied past torture
A/N: Dear prompter, this story was a joy and delight to write, even when I was stuck and tearing my hair out – which happened quite a bit! I have tried to include most of your kinks and the prompt scenario in here. I sincerely hope you enjoy it! This story would be nothing like what it is if it hadn’t been for the input of my beta, to whom I owe an enormous debt of gratitude for her steadfast belief in my writing abilities and her wise words of advice. She is truly a saint for having put up with me and put so much of herself into this story. The title comes from a quote by Edmund Waller.
